Kings Road,

Chelsea, London

The project consisted of the complete refurbishment of a Grade II listed 5 storey building across from Duke of York Square in Chelsea. The basement and ground floor areas are occupied by a retail unit fronting the King’s Road with a 2 bedroom apartment occupying the Upper floors with access from Lincoln Street.

Structural upgrades included new basement foundations, drainage, RC retaining walls and floor slab, extensive tanking systems with new suspended composite concrete deck at ground floor level including a suspended slab with pavement lights over the vaults beneath the
highway at the front of the building.

The entire timber roof structure was replaced and upgraded before new welsh slate  roof coverings, leadwork and external decorative Portland stone copings were installed.

Elsewhere historic features were retained and refurbished, including fireplaces and cornices and these were complimented by new plaster finishes throughout, joinery and fibrous mouldings to match the existing, comprising of new fibrous cornices and decorative ceiling roses, timber panelled internal doors, moulded hardwood skirtings and architraves, stairs and balustrades and fitted furniture. Flooring finishes were a combination of hardwood plank oak flooring and parquet flooring to living areas, with high quality carpets to bedrooms and stair areas.

All areas were decorated to a very high standard and the majority of the works were carried out by our own ‘in-house’ tradesmen.
