Rowans Hospice

Rowans.JPG

The ‘Rowans Living Well Centre’ project consisted of the construction of a new two storey, detached building, adjacent to the main Hospice site to provide therapy facilities for patients, carers and the bereaved.   As well as dedicated therapy & consulting rooms, kitchen facilities and a meeting space were provided to the ground floor, with offices / meeting rooms situated on the first floor. A small free-standing passenger lift provides access across both levels. Externally there is a car park to the front of the building and a paved / resin bound patio area to the rear. A pathway was also constructed to link the two Hospice buildings that could accommodate a motorised buggy to transport patients and rest points for wheelchair users.  The Charity commented positively on how sensitively Richardson’s worked alongside clinical staff and interior designers, to include patient representatives to create an environment to enhance health and well-being.
